I'm a 55-year-old physical therapist and Rent is about $1,853/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $600,600 on average. Poverty rate is 8.1%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in retail. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Italian.
No regrets on my end..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for family and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The public transit is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The food scene is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.
