Curious what people think. I've been here for 2 years and Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Would love some local perspective.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Denver it's tough.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Raleigh about 3 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is tough.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Hope this helps!.

I work in hospitality here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is tough. Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
