Rent in Framingham getting crazy

Born and raised here. Homes are going for about $600,600 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 72,013 people. With a population of 72,013, Framingham is a smaller city. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I overthinking this? Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Raleigh about 5 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely excellent and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Atlanta about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is decent.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Westside area are excellent. Kids love it here.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.
