We're a young couple and Homes are going for about $600,600 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What do you all think? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely improving and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Uptown) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is decent in most areas.

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Austin it's decent.

Bought a house here in 2023 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
