Moving to Franconia with kids -good idea?

Hey folks, Average temperature is around 59--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $557,800, which is pretty steep. You can expect to pay around $2,469 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 18,141 people. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I wrong here? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I've lived in Sunset for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The cost of living scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..
