Unpopular opinion about Frankfort

Alright, I grew up here but left for a while. Median household income is $153,714, which feels pretty solid for the area. The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $153,714 in Frankfort. Rent is about $2,175/month for a decent place. With a population of 20,417, Frankfort is a small town. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Strong sense of community
- Active local events

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Not very walkable
- Lack of diversity
- Limited cultural events
- Homelessness issues downtown
Am I overthinking this? The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The walkability scene is decent

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Pine Hills area are tough. Kids love it here.
