Life in Franklin as a young professional

Hey, Household incomes average around $46,278 in Franklin. The unemployment rate is 0.4%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 22.2%, which is higher than I expected. The median home value here is around $98,200, which is actually reasonable. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Close to nature
- Lots of new development
- Walkable downtown
- Active local events

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Limited cultural events
- Chain restaurants dominate
Thoughts? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great sushi places. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in real estate. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is solid in most areas.
