I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The housing market is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Atlanta it's hit or miss.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Portland about 2 years ago. The main reasons were weather and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are growing, gas is decent.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in South for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
- The walkability scene is improving

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Definitely worth checking out..
