I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor recreation is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in South for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- The community vibe scene is decent

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Raleigh it's tough.

I work in construction here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is challenging. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely average and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- The weather scene is decent

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
