Moving to Franklin Park with kids -good idea?

Anyone else feel this way? My family moved here when I was a kid. Poverty rate is 11.5%, which is around average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Moved here from Chicago about 5 years ago. it's been a really good experience overall. Still getting used to walkability but It's not for everyone but it works for us..
