Relocating to Franklin, TN -pros and cons?

So, We're a young couple and The median home value here is around $646,300, which is pretty steep. Household incomes average around $115,000 in Franklin. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Would love some local perspective. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

I've lived in Highland for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- The community vibe scene is improving

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Seattle about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 42, moved here 5 years ago from Boston. I've lived in Greenfield and Pine Hills, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good internet infrastructure
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The walkability situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for couples. tough vibes, walkable.
- Pine Hills: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Boston, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $60K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
