First post here. My family moved here when I was a kid. The median home value here is around $646,300, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 61--F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $646,300 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Any advice would be great. Any help is appreciated. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Italian places. it's been a really good experience overall.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Riverside area are solid. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely tough and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (South) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely underrated and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (South) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
