Anyone else feel this way? I'm a remote worker and Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $567,100, which is pretty steep. With a population of 33,067, Franklin Town is a smaller city. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What would you do? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in South. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in legal. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Indian.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Eastside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The safety scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited high-paying job options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..
