Best areas to explore in Franklin?

Curious what people think. Homes are going for about $343,400 on average. Median household income is $108,342, which feels pretty solid for the area. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. What do you all think? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in finance. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (East) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 2 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great BBQ places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
