Jayden Collins moving

Is Franklin worth moving to in 2026?

Anyone else feel this way? I relocated for work and Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What would you do? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in consulting. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The healthcare is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Internet is challenging in most areas.

I've lived in Westside for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The outdoor recreation scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
