How is the nightlife in Frankston?

Longtime lurker here, It's a a small town city with about 1,270 people. Homes are going for about $105,800 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I overthinking this?

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Tampa it's better than expected.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 2 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The housing market is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 53, moved here 13 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in Old Town and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The food scene situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Old Town: Great for retirees. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $50K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Bought a house here in 2019 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
