Frederick quality of life -am I missing something?
I relocated for work and Median household income is $95,150, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $95,150 in Frederick. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What do you all think?

I've been in Sunset for 8 years. Moved from Nashville for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is average - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Property taxes are high. And healthcare can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Oak Park. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in tech. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Asian.

I've been here 7 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
