OK so Average temperature is around 57--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $1,521 for rent here. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value school system, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (The Heights) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The pet-friendliness is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
