I'm retired and Rent is about $2,429/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Frederickson sits at 279.4 per 100K. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 12 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
