Curious what people think. Born and raised here. Household incomes average around $47,694 in Fredonia. You can expect to pay around $866 for rent here. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a marketing manager, 44, moved here 13 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Pine Hills and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The school system situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for couples. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Denver about 11 years ago. The main reasons were weather and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. No regrets on my end..

Came here for quality of life and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The pet-friendliness is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
