OK so I'm retired and Homes are going for about $401,900 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Riverside. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in construction. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like sushi.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
