Pros and cons of Freeman after 11 years

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Rent is about $741/month for a decent place. Median household income is $60,114, which feels about average for the area. Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $171,300, which is actually reasonable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much stable but now it's excellent.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Riverside. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
