I've been here for 12 years and Homes are going for about $86,100 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What do you all think? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Atlanta about 13 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is solid.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The food scene is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Westside. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Thai.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Riverside. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in education. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The walkability is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..
