Fremont vs El Monte — which is better to move to?

My partner and I are deciding between Fremont and Fargo for our next move. We care most about:
- Cost of living
- Safety
- Job market (healthcare)
- Outdoor activities

Anyone who's lived in either or both — which would you choose and why?

As someone who moved here from Miami, I can confirm most of this. The friendliness of people surprised me the most.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 7 years and my experience is very similar.

Check out the Downtown area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

If you can afford it, Old Town is the best place to live. Period.

Coming from Miami, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are cheaper.

I'd add that the parks here are amazing for families. Otherwise spot on!

I've lived in Lakewood for 13 years and it's a hidden gem honestly.

Don't sleep on Northside. It's up and coming and still affordable.
