Hey everyone, I'm single, late 20s, and Median household income is $67,179, which feels about average for the area. Homes are going for about $194,400 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Am I wrong here? The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Pine Hills area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 7 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is tough.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Uptown for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
- The outdoor recreation scene is improving
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I work in finance here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is excellent. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
