Why I chose Fresno over bigger cities

So, I'm single, late 30s, and Crime rate is something to consider — Fresno sits at 464.2 per 100K. Average temperature is around 64°F, so the weather is moderate. Poverty rate is 16.3%, which is higher than I expected. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What would you do? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Moved here from Raleigh about 15 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but Would recommend to anyone considering it..
