Curious what people think. I relocated for work and Crime rate is something to consider -Fresno sits at 183.3 per 100K. Poverty rate is 5.9%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Does this match your experience? I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Pine Hills area are tough. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in North. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.
