Life in Friendswood as a young professional

OK so Born and raised here. Poverty rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,698 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 40,827 people. Homes are going for about $399,500 on average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Any advice would be great. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 9 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
