Is Frisco worth moving to in 2026?

First post here. I've been here for 7 years and Household incomes average around $113,406 in Frisco. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Miami about 9 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'm a contractor and I've found I love the pace of life here. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely improving and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Bugs and humidity in summer.

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Eastside for 14 years. Moved from Nashville for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Road conditions need improvement. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 9/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Dallas about 10 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Rising rent and home prices

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. No regrets on my end..
