So, Median household income is $146,158, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider — Frisco sits at 80.2 per 100K. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Anyone in a similar situation?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in government. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Pittsburgh it's better than expected.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Atlanta about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is excellent.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much affordable but now it's challenging.

I've lived in Sunset for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- The food scene scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited high-paying job options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
