Moving to Frisco with kids — good idea?

Anyone else feel this way? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Pine Hills. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Used to live on the The Heights side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Eastside. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in real estate. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 2 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
