Top 5 things I love about Front Royal
Just moved here 12 months ago and Rent is about $1,133/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 15,152 people. The median home value here is around $284,900, which seems about average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.
Pros:
- Lots of new development
- Plenty of shopping options
- Good airport connections
Cons:
- Far from major airports
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homelessness issues downtown
- Not enough green space
Any advice would be great. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
