Longtime lurker here, I grew up here but left for a while. With a population of 3,289, Frostproof is a small town. Rent is about $691/month for a decent place. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in East. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in finance. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from New York about 3 years ago. The main reasons were work and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is improving.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my end..
