Hey, I'm a teacher here and Crime rate is something to consider -Fruita sits at 162.9 per 100K. Homes are going for about $361,500 on average. Poverty rate is 1.4%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Worth the trade-offs? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
