Best and worst neighborhoods in Fruitridge Pocket

Been meaning to ask this. My family moved here when I was a kid. Homes are going for about $338,800 on average. Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Fruitridge Pocket sits at 614.8 per 100K. Median household income is $51,350, which feels on the lower side for the area. The unemployment rate is 5.5%, which is about average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Lots of new development
- Plenty of shopping options
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Sprawl everywhere
- Not very walkable
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Any advice would be great. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Minneapolis about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..
