Remote worker thinking about Fuller Heights

Hey everyone, I'm a teacher here and Average temperature is around 73--F, so it's warm year-round. Rent is about $1,416/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $262,000 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Fuller Heights sits at 446.6 per 100K. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. Let me know your thoughts. TIA! Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Bought a house here in 2019 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Used to live on the North side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Riverside for 7 years. Moved from Seattle for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Far from beaches/mountains. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 11 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in South. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in legal. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.
