OK so I'm a remote worker and Rent is about $2,124/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 4.3%, which is about average. With a population of 141K, Fullerton is a mid-size city. Crime rate is something to consider — Fullerton sits at 266.1 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The traffic scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 11 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
