Just moved to Fulton, any tips?

Hello, Born and raised here. Homes are going for about $847,700 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Fulton sits at 593.4 per 100K. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Anyone in a similar situation? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Came here for weather and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The job market is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is solid in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in North for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The cultural scene scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..

Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 8 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Dating scene is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Uptown for 9 years. Moved from Chicago for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is decent - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Uptown schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Homeless population growing downtown. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 7/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
