Worst things about Fulton nobody talks about

Born and raised here. The median home value here is around $847,700, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $240,219, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $3,052/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. TIA! The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I'm a marketing manager and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

I've lived in Springfield for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The pet-friendliness scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Downtown. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in legal. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Definitely worth checking out..
