Moved here from San Francisco about 7 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to school system but Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Eastside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- The healthcare scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
