I'm retired and The median home value here is around $410,600, which is pretty steep. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Anyone in a similar situation? The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Seattle it's better than expected.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Highland. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in legal. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in The Heights. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in construction. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
