Commute times in Gaffney -how bad?

Born and raised here. Crime rate is something to consider -Gaffney sits at 814.2 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Portland about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is average.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to San Francisco it's pretty good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in consulting. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.
