Just moved here 7 months ago and Poverty rate is 4.4%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $322,300, which seems about average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Atlanta about 5 years ago. The main reasons were family and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a social worker, 24, moved here 2 years ago from LA. I've lived in Midtown and Old Town, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Can feel isolated
3. The cost of living situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for singles. decent vibes, walkable.
- Old Town: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $50K-$120K here.
