Came here for cost of living and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The cost of living is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Miami about 9 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.
