Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 8 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely challenging and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Midtown) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Homeless population growing downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Austin about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Greenfield. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in consulting. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
