OK so I work in energy and Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $199,700 on average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Worth the trade-offs? I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Salt Lake City it's tough.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value traffic, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely better than expected and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a HR manager and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is improving and there's always something going on.
