Just moved to Gales Ferry, any tips?

Hi all, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Poverty rate is 36.0%, which is higher than I expected. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. What would you do? Any help is appreciated. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 6 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
