Homes are going for about $134,600 on average. The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Gallup sits at 1,992.3 per 100K. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Does this match your experience? Cheers. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in education. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'm a sales manager and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

I work in retail here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is challenging. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely solid and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (North) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
