Hey, I'm a remote worker and Poverty rate is 13.4%, which is around average. Crime rate is something to consider -Galveston sits at 478.3 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I wrong here? The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The school system is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
