Anyone else feel this way? I'm single, late 40s, and The median home value here is around $254,000, which seems about average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Has anyone dealt with this? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Atlanta about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is challenging.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. No regrets on my end..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 1 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals
- The walkability scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Urban sprawl is real

I've been here 3 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.
